About Our Client
Our client is looking for a Director of Operations for their wealth management Tampa office.
The OpportunityThis is a pivotal leadership role for an operations professional ready to lead the functional infrastructure within a growing financial firm. As the Director of Operations, you will serve as the architect of the firm s back-office, driving the transition toward a highly scalable, technology-driven operational model. This position is designed as a high-impact leadership track; for a proven performer who demonstrates strategic influence and operational excellence, there is a clear path to executive leadership as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
In this role, you will move beyond daily transactional tasks to lead strategic systems design and long-term organizational management.
- Own all back-office operations and design the scalable systems that support a best-in-class family office experience.
- Take full ownership of financial reporting and complex hard-dollar billing across various asset classes.
- Manage the reporting infrastructure and databases, ensuring comprehensive coverage of entire family balance sheets, including businesses, real estate, and alternatives.
- Drive process design and utilization within the CRM, building workflows that advisors can adopt and scale.
- Directly manage the Reporting Specialist, lead future hires (CSAs), and manage relationships with custodians and technology partners.
- Oversee HR, benefits administration, and vendor-supported compliance functions.
- You bring 3 5 years of experience in wealth management operations, preferably within an independent RIA.
- You have a deep background in reporting, billing, data analysis, or financial planning systems.
- You possess strong software aptitude, with experience in complex reporting platforms like Addepar (highly preferred) or Black Diamond.
- You are a 'builder' who is energized by the challenge of creating new processes rather than just maintaining the status quo.
- You have the drive to navigate complex, multi-asset reporting environments and are comfortable with 10 20% travel to support firm locations.
The Ideal Candidate is a high-performing operations professional or senior Client Service Associate who is ready for a significant step up into a strategic leadership role. You are someone who thrives in a high-trust, small-business environment where your work has a direct, visible impact on the firm's success. You should be a technology-forward thinker who enjoys the 'puzzle' of reporting on diverse assets.
Above all, you are looking for long-term ownership and the opportunity to eventually run the firm s daily operations as COO.
