The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is a senior executive reporting directly to the CEO and responsible for driving revenue growth, maximizing asset value, and supporting the long‑term financial sustainability of the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority. The role oversees both aeronautical and non‑aeronautical revenue streams, including concessions, parking, commercial real‑estate, advertising, sponsor ships, general aviation, and air service development. The CCO develops and executes commercial strategies that enhance passenger experience, strengthen airport competitiveness, and create economic value for the region.
Key responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, optimizing existing revenue‑generating operations, leading real‑estate and development initiatives, negotiating commercial agreements, and building high‑performing teams. The position requires strong strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and business acumen, with experience in aviation, transportation, infrastructure, or similarly complex organizations. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree and at least ten years of senior leadership experience with direct responsibility for financial performance, revenue growth, and business operations.
DESCRIPTION
Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Commercial Officer is responsible for advancing the Authority’s mission by strengthening and growing its aeronautical and non‑aeronautical revenue base, including concessions, parking, commercial real‑estate, advertising and sponsor ships, general aviation, air services development, and other yet to be identified revenue opportunities.
This role ensures the Authority’s assets are effectively used to support long‑term financial growth and sustainability, enhance the passenger experience, and contribute to the economic vitality of the region. The Chief Commercial Officer will lead efforts to improve performance across these areas, delivering sustained revenue growth while maintaining alignment with the Authority’s public responsibilities and strategic priorities.
The successful candidate will bring a combination of strategic leadership and practical execution, with experience in aviation, infrastructure, or similarly complex environments, along with a demonstrated ability to grow and enhance financial performance and make thoughtful, forward‑looking decisions about asset use and development.
Working closely with internal teams, industry partners, and community stakeholders, this role will guide both near‑term improvements and longer‑term opportunities, including the development and commercialization of new facilities, ensuring that growth is achieved in a way that reflects the Authority’s values, responsibilities, and commitment to service.

COMPENSATION: $325,000+ c ommensurate with qualifications and experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Develop and execute a commercial growth strategy that expands revenue streams, advances new business opportunities, and maximizes the long‑term value of Authority assets.
- Identify and advance aviation‑related development opportunities, including general aviation, cargo, airline‑support facilities, and other aeronautical uses that support growth and enhance asset value.
- Partner with airline, air service development, and operations teams to align commercial initiatives with passenger growth, airline expansion, and airport competitiveness.
- Analyze market trends, passenger demand, and industry developments to identify opportunities that strengthen aeronautical and non‑aeronautical revenues.
- Drive sustained growth in non‑aeronautical revenue through strategic management of concessions, parking, real‑estate, and other commercial services.
