Summary:
The Medical District Operations Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence, facility safety, and efficiency across assigned medical branches in Florida. This role provides leadership and direction to Branch, Administrative, and Operating associates to achieve best-in-class safety standards, EBITDA performance, operational compliance, and maximum customer retention. The Manager has full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for all medical branches within the designated territory, overseeing operational execution, facility compliance, and resource management to deliver an effortless customer experience.

- Leads Operational Excellence (OpX) and efficiency strategies across district branches to meet key production, safety, and financial KPIs.
- Oversees daily operations, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance (including FDA, State of Florida, and local healthcare standards) across all district facilities.
- Conducts up to 80% day travel across the assigned Florida territory to manage branch operations and evaluate site performance.
- Collaborates effectively with field sales teams to support key medical accounts and fulfill customer requirements without directly managing sales personnel.
- Manages district personnel to properly optimize branch assets, facility throughput, and inventory fulfillment of medical gases and hardgoods.
- Instills accountability for SAP accuracy and proficiency across division associates.
- Manages operational expenses in line with Gross Profit (GP) and EBITDA goals while driving cost-efficiency strategies.
- Supports the execution of Core Strategy I and II initiatives and facilitates customer transitions to the Total Access (TA) program.
- Fosters a safe, collaborative team environment focused on associate development, transparent communication, and high employee retention.
- Other operational projects and initiatives as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four-year college degree from an accredited institution in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of increasing responsibility in a business-to-business sales-related or sales operations position to include prior experience managing a team and a P&L or comparable experience within the distribution industry involving medical gases and supplies or similar industrial products.
- A reputation for strong leadership skills and the capability of developing and managing cross-functional operational and branch teams with an emphasis on customer experience and operational excellence.
- Versatility to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated medical market and business environment.
- Excellent motivational and team coaching skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities with the ability to analyze operational efficiencies, drive OpX strategies, and resolve business bottlenecks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry, business, and accounting concepts including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, operational expense control, Gross Profit (GP) goals, margin responsibilities, and building solid business cases.
- Tough-minded, take-charge change agent who challenges the status quo, drives continuous improvement, and acts with a sense of urgency.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and create cross-functional alignment across branch operations and field sales teams.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, especially in developing operational action plans, enforcing regulatory standards, and ensuring follow-through.
- Ability to make highly effective oral and written presentations and proposals to all levels of management.
- Working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
- Up to 80% travel throughout the designated territory (mostly drivable).
- Minimal overnight travel.
- Must have reliable, appropriate transportation.
- Job requires visitation of various Airgas and medical customer sites, which have varying environments/conditions, layouts, and accessibility.
