Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- Valid Airframe License required (Valid Airframe & Powerplant preferred); if no A&P, Repairman Certificate through Airborne.
- Two (2) years’ experience in heavy aircraft maintenance, preferably with an airline and/or MRO aircraft company.
- Thorough working knowledge of all forms and documents required to support heavy maintenance service, including company policy and procedure manuals, FAR’s, AD’s, Service Bulletins, and Maintenance Manuals.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions, blueprints, and drawings.
- Efficient in the use and application of tools, gauges, instruments, etc. necessary for the accomplishment of duties assigned.
- Understanding and working knowledge of hazardous material handling and disposal as related to the job assignment.
- Minimum required tools must be available.
- Meeting the qualifications to obtain a SIDA badge.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of work to be performed within a given classification and/or a specialized job/operation.
- Demonstrated ability to use good judgment and make sound decisions.
- Leadership qualities, including the ability to cooperate and work with others.
- Ability to perform high quality work in a reasonable length of time, lead, and direct the work of employees.
- Ability to satisfactorily accomplish all job assignments with little or no supervision or instruction.
- Efficiently and accurately read, interpret, and carry out written or verbal instructions, technical orders, operating procedures, and directives.
- Perform work in your classification for a major portion of your assigned working hours.
- Lead, assign work to, and direct all work in conformance with the classifications of employees assigned to you.
- Instruct other employees in the proper methods and procedures of performing jobs when required.
- Read and interpret information, answer questions, review work in process, and check completed work to ensure quality and timely completion of all job assignments.
- Eliminate ordinary difficulties encountered in regular job assignments.
- Prepare and maintain records pertaining to job assignments as required.
- Be responsible for the satisfactory completion of work performed by employees assigned to you.
- Refer any matter to your Supervisor that is not within your authority.
- Do not have authority to recommend employees for employment, transfer, promotion, or disciplinary action.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors necessary for the normal day-to-day operation, not determined at time of hire.
- Be able to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
- Be able to climb and work from ladders, work stands, and other heights.
- Be able to work with one or both hands extended overhead.
- Have correctable near and far vision.
- Be able to hear at conversational level with hearing aid.
- Be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Be able to handle and maintain control of small parts and to properly operate hand tools.
