Position Summary:
- Lead and mentor a team of supervisors, technicians, and engineers to ensure technical competency, safety compliance, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and TBA Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Maintenance, 5S, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Serve as the primary maintenance liaison for customer audits, inspections, and facility certifications.
- Foster a proactive maintenance culture focused on reliability, accountability, and operational excellence.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises foundry production supervisors, leads, and hourly personnel.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management within the department.
- Ensures consistent enforcement of company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Promotes employee development and cross-training to strengthen departmental flexibility and capability
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum 10 The Director of Maintenance is responsible for leading all maintenance operations across TBA’s manufacturing facilities, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, reliability, and safety. This role oversees the planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance for foundry, machining, NDT, welding, and assembly equipment. The Director of Maintenance develops long-term maintenance strategies, manages capital projects, and ensures compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards to support continuous production and operational excellence.
- Essential Functions:
- Direct all maintenance department activities to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and compliance with production requirements.
- Lead the development and execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Oversee maintenance planning and scheduling to minimize downtime and maximize asset availability.
- Manage capital equipment installations, facility upgrades, and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to address recurring equipment issues and optimize process performance.
- Develop and manage annual maintenance budgets, cost controls, and performance metrics (MTBF, MTTR, OEE).
- Establish maintenance standards, documentation, and reporting systems in alignment with ISO and customer requirements.
- Oversee spare parts inventory management and procurement in coordination with Supply Chain.
- –15 years of maintenance or reliability engineering experience in a heavy industrial, foundry, or manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.
- Proven experience implementing maintenance management systems, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and asset management programs.
Education, Experience, or Formal Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or trade school certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in machinery, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP).
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Certification.
- OSHA 30-hour Industrial Safety Certification.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent exp managing large-scale maintenance projects.
Working Environment:
- Combination of office and manufacturing floor environments.
- Frequent exposure to heat, dust, noise, and industrial equipment.
- Must comply with all PPE and safety protocols while on the production floor.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing within industrial areas.
- Ability to visually inspect components and operate testing/measuring equipment.
