Sheet Metal Technician Lead – Tampa, FL (Job No. 341133)

Responsibilities- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions to plan scope, sequences, methods, and materials, ensuring precision and alignment with project requirements.
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair precision sheet metal components, working with cutting, forming, welding, and finishing equipment.
- Lay out, alter, bend, and form sheet metal parts using approved techniques to achieve exact fit, form, and function.
- Prepare holes across various metals through accurate drilling, deburring, countersinking, and dimpling to support high‑quality fastener installation.
- Install solid and blind rivets using rivet guns, squeeze tools, and specialty fasteners to ensure structural integrity and consistency.
- Remove rivets and sheet metal components as needed to support modifications, repairs, and final configuration requirements.
- Execute all work to the highest airworthiness, safety, and reliability standards, contributing directly to customer and flight safety.
- Required education and experience: High school diploma, equivalent certificate, or bronze level Work Keys certification; minimum 2 years of diversified aviation sheet metal experience.
- Aircraft structures and FAA standards: Working knowledge of aircraft structural repair manuals and FAA AC 43.13‑1B.
- Corrosion identification & treatment: Ability to identify corrosion types and perform approved corrosion removal procedures.
- Surface preparation & protective coatings: Experience applying and removing wash etch, alodine, and primer.
- Aviation hardware knowledge: Ability to identify and work with aircraft rivets, bolts, screws, nuts, and washers.
- Security clearance eligibility: Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security badge, as required.
