Job Description

This position is for a QC Inspector for visual inspection of parts/material for cosmetic non-conformances, damage, defects, and assembly errors. Work occurs on the 3rd shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform visual inspection of parts/material for cosmetic non-conformances.
  • Inspect parts/material for damaged material, nicks, raised material, burrs, and assembly process errors.
  • Use standard measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, plugs and thread gages.
  • Use instruments such as optical comparator, height gage and transfer stand with dial indicator.
  • Set up and run CMM in manual mode.
  • Read blueprints.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Auto Cad / Geo Magic.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Frequently talk or hear. Occasionally walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK

ENVIRONMENT

Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level usually very quiet. May require work hours outside of the regular schedule to meet operational needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable laws.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Compensation within the range is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, job-related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
