Hourly base pay $15.10 - $22.69/hour (range may vary by location and candidate qualifications). Position may be eligible for commission and/or incentive programs.

Job Description

This position ensures an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) quality appearance on repaired and refinished panels after paint application by utilizing finishing abrasives, buffing equipment and compounds to refine panel finish texture. Adherence to Manheim’s Body Shop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) is required.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect refinished body panels for proper color match and acceptable finish texture, bringing any quality issues to management immediately.
  • Prepare surfaces for buffing using proper finish sanding products and technique as defined in SOP.
  • Restore refinish panel(s) to OEM quality using rotary buffer, correct buffing technique, compounds and polishes defined in SOP.
  • Inspect remaining (not repaired/refinished) vehicle surfaces for overspray and remove as needed.
  • Remove and clean all compound or polish residue from buffed panels completely and inspect for acceptable finish quality.
  • Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling related behaviors. Actively participate in Safety Excellence activities.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2‑5 years of buffing experience or experience working in a body shop/repair preferred.
  • Valid respirator fit test required.
  • Paint Training Certification as defined in HAPS 6H regulation required.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb.
  • Ability to lift 1‑15 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks.
  • Vision abilities required: close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

Frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Moderate noise level.

Drug Testing

Pre‑employment drug test required. No drug testing for marijuana. Coca Automotive is a drug‑free workplace. Participation in or possession of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property or in company vehicles is prohibited.
