Position Overview
An Assembler is responsible for production‑assembly of molded plastic parts. The role requires operating machining equipment to perform specific processes, placing parts on fixtures, deburring and gauging parts, and running machines while following prescribed procedures. The operator must record process control data, read and interpret blueprint tolerances, use measurement tools, start‑up and shut‑down equipment, and operate tools independently. Proper training is provided and the operator is not permitted to program machines unless authorized.
EssentialFunctions
- Mechanically inclined with basic reading, writing and mathematics skills.
- Works in a team environment, follows directions and read work instructions.
- Prepares container tickets and counts part additions and subtractions.
- Utilizes hand tools, scales, and process equipment such as fixtures, assembly presses, and drill presses.
- Operates hand tools requiring ambidexterity.
- Stands or sits for extended periods of time.
- Moderately lifts up to 50 lbs, with assistance as needed.
- Exhibits fine hand manipulation for pinching, pulling, and grasping parts of varying sizes.
- Has full range of motion in hands, arms, legs, neck, and back to perform job duties.
- Uses chemicals as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to communicate in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic reading and math skills.
- Normal to high manual dexterity skills.
- Ability to use hand tools, machinery, and variable gauges.
- Qualified and competent after a reasonable training period based on job complexity.
The position is located in a typical manufacturing area requiring protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes or boots, and hearing protection. The work area is non‑temperature controlled, resulting in hot temperatures during summer months. Typical hazards include ergonomic issues, burns, bruises, cuts, heavy lifting, fumes, slippery floors, machine hazards, chemicals, gases, and body injuries. Protective measures such as machine guards, an ergonomic stretch program, and appropriate PPE are in place.
PayRange
$18.00 - $21.57 per hour.
