We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead a high-volume, multi-shift food and bakery manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and delivering measurable improvements in efficiency and profitability. The Plant Manager will oversee production, labor planning, and financial performance, including P&L management and financial planning
, while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Lead daily production activities across multiple shifts to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Train, coach, and support supervisors and frontline staff to drive performance.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing
, Six Sigma
, and continuous improvement principles to reduce waste and improve throughput. - Establish and track KPIs for production, quality, safety, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP
, sanitation standards, and regulatory requirements. - Collaborate with QA, HR, and Supply Chain teams to achieve operational goals.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges with creative, timely solutions.
Oversee labor planning for a 24/7 operation to ensure adequate coverage. - Manage operational P&L performance
, including labor efficiency, overhead costs, and material utilization. - Lead financial planning and budgeting to support growth and profitability.
- Direct large-scale projects and manage fixed budgets effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology, or related field.
- 3-7 years of progressive leadership experience in large-volume food or bakery manufacturing operations.
- Experience with JIT, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or TQM methodologies.
- Strong background with food production equipment and maintenance teams.
- HACCP Certified with deep knowledge of food safety regulations.
- Proven leadership skills with ability to coach, delegate, and drive performance.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated success in P&L ownership and financial planning.
