Kathy Castor for Congress (FL-14) is seeking full-time Field Organizers. This entry-level position will report to the Field Director on one of 2026's most competitive Frontline Congressional races. Field Organizers on this race will work closely with interns, volunteers, and voters across FL-14 to execute a grassroots field plan, achieving both quantitative and qualitative organizing metrics. This position is full-time, based in Tampa, Florida and will require some travel.

Required Skills, Abilities, and

Experience:

  • Previous campaign experience preferred but not required
  • Commitment to learning and understanding relational organizing tactics
  • Current driver's license and access to a car
  • Access to a computer and cell phone
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
  • Experience working in Florida politics or ties to Florida preferred
  • Previous experience with VAN preferred but not required
  • Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence - the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant, and productive ways
  • Have a personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers
  • Manage staging locations and volunteer leaders in assigned turf
  • Plan and execute canvass launches, phone banks, and other campaign events
  • Direct voter outreach, including canvassing, phone banking, and voter registration in assigned turf
  • Travel throughout assigned turf to meet voters, attend events, and launch canvasses
  • Build meaningful relationships with local stakeholders and organizations
  • Foster inclusive team culture
  • Attend events as a representative of the campaign, including staffing the candidate and tabling
  • Other department responsibilities as needed
