Seasonal Advanced Practice Provider - Cardiothoracic Surgery Operating Room (260000C0)
Tampa General Hospital is seeking an Experienced Advanced Heart Failure Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for a contract position within our Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology service. TGH is a nationally recognized heart transplant center with a 24/7 APP‑led model, providing continuous coverage for high‑acuity cardiac patients requiring advanced therapies.
DescriptionThis role is primarily night shift, with rotation through weekends and holidays. Night, weekend, and holiday differentials apply.
The contract is offered in 3‑month increments, with the possibility to extend and/or transition to a full‑time position.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluate, admit, and manage patients with advanced heart failure and cardiogenic shock
- Provide ICU‑level care, including invasive hemodynamic monitoring, while collaborating with intensivist‑led CCU and CTICU multidisciplinary team
- Oversee chronic and acute inotrope therapy
- Support pre‑ and post‑operative heart transplant patients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including intensivists, cardiology, CT surgery, perfusion, and transplant services
- Function as the on‑site overnight APP, with MD backup available
- Work within the intensivist‑led CCU and CTICU environments
- Contract role with potential pathway to full‑time employment
- High‑acuity environment within a leading heart transplant program
- APP on‑site overnight with physician backup
- Night, weekend, and holiday pay differentials
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience as an APP in critical care or advanced heart failure. Experience with mechanical circulatory support is preferred, and transplant experience is also preferred.
- Master's Degree Nurse Practitioner or Master's Degree Physician Assistant
- License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant
- Certification and/or Nationally Accredited Nurse Practitioner Board Certification or Nationally Accredited Physician Assistant Board certification
