Location
This position is located at HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital’s MAIN CAMPUS ER (2901 W. Swann Avenue, Tampa, FL 33609).
Job SummaryAs an Emergency Room Registered Nurse, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in an acute setting. You will collaborate with physicians, other nursing staff, and the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.
Responsibilities- Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve them proactively.
- Teach patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology into understandable language.
- Educate patients/families/caregivers on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
- Licensed Florida Registered Nurse; if holding a compact license, an active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and/or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- Current NIHSS, TNCC, CPI training required; new hire must obtain within 6 months of hire date, transferring employee within 6 months grace period.
- National Board Certification (CEN, CPEN) highly preferred.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
