Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Practice Model: 100% Outpatient

This opportunity is designed for a Certified Nurse Midwife seeking meaningful women’s healthcare work with the consistency of an outpatient practice.

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • No regularly scheduled nights
  • Seven paid company holidays

Position Summary

Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to join our Women’s Health team.

The CNM will provide comprehensive outpatient gynecologic, reproductive, prenatal, and postpartum care. This position emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education.

The CNM works closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, clinical support teams, and community partners to provide coordinated, evidence‑based, and patient‑centered care.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient prenatal and postpartum care
  • Perform well‑woman examinations, acute visits, and family‑planning services
  • Deliver evidence‑based outpatient care to obstetric patients
  • Diagnose and manage common gynecologic and reproductive health conditions
  • Prescribe medications, contraceptives, and other treatments in accordance with Florida law
  • Provide contraceptive counseling and perform LARC insertion and removal
  • Perform colposcopies, gynecologic biopsies, and other appropriate in‑office procedures
  • Provide perimenopausal and menopausal care
  • Order, review, and follow up on laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic testing
  • Make appropriate referrals for specialty care, additional testing, treatment, and follow‑up services
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation
  • Complete billing charges and clinical tasks in accordance with organizational requirements
  • Participate in peer review, quality‑improvement initiatives, and accreditation‑readiness activities
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff and medical assistants
  • Teach and supervise residents, graduate nursing students, and allied health professionals when assigned
  • Collaborate with Women’s Health providers, clinical leadership, and community partners
  • Practice at multiple TFHC locations when operationally necessary
  • Participate in limited telephone or after‑hours coverage when assigned
  • Comply with HIPAA, federal, state, accreditation, HRSA, and TFHC requirements
Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or post‑graduate certificate from an accredited nurse‑midwifery program
  • Current Certified Nurse Midwife credential through the American Midwifery Certification Board
  • Active and unrestricted Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • Two to three years of experience in midwifery, obstetrics, or women’s health preferred
  • Experience performing in‑office gynecologic procedures preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical‑thinking, and decision‑making skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred but not required
