Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM)

Supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties, as well as the responsibility and accountability for the 24/7 coverage of assigned direct reports in the following sections:
Emergency Department. They provide coverage for the NM and other ANMs as needed. The ANM has responsibility and accountability for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and provides input into the evaluation of individual staff performance.

They function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. They enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence based cutting-edge programs/processes. This includes the collecting, analyzing, trending and reporting of data as it relates to nurse sensitive indicators and risk management findings.

The ANM performs delegated duties, such as maintaining employees' schedules, completing performance evaluations, initiating and performing fact findings, recommending disciplinary action, and responding to patient and staff safety concerns. The ANM may be required to fill in as charge nurse, or provide direct patient care, as needed.

The ANM engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth. They adhere to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels. They collaborate with the nurse educators to ensure staff have the appropriate orientation plan and education for annual competencies. They equip staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.

They cultivate alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
