Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Assistant Director of Resident Care to support the Director of Resident Care with the coordination and management of the nursing and resident care program. This position will assist with overseeing nursing staff, caregivers, and medication aides while helping ensure residents’ physical, emotional, psychological, and safety needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Resident Care: Assist with overseeing the delivery of quality care and ensuring residents’ needs are met.
  • Resident Assessments: Assist with conducting and documenting resident evaluations and reporting changes in condition.
  • Staff Supervision: Assist with supervising, training, evaluating, and scheduling nursing and resident care staff as delegated by the Director.
  • Care Coordination: Assist with coordinating care conferences with residents and families.
  • Compliance: Ensure care is provided in accordance with company policies and Florida state regulations.
  • Incident Reporting: Ensure accidents and incident reports are completed accurately and timely.
  • Program Oversight: Assist with oversight of resident care programs and maintain program standards.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Maintain knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain resident confidentiality and protect sensitive resident information at all times.

Experience and

Education Requirements:
  • Valid Nursing License: Must possess a current, valid LPN or RN license in the state of Florida.
  • Education: Associate degree preferred; or 2–4 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Senior Living

    Experience:

    Previous experience in assisted living, senior living, nursing, or a similar healthcare setting preferred.
  • Dementia

    Experience:

    Previous experience working with individuals with dementia is required.
  • Leadership

    Experience:

    Previous supervisory or leadership experience in healthcare or senior living preferred.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent organizational abilities.
Physical Requirements:

This position requires regular standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing. The role may also require bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as assisting with resident transfers.
