Summary To deliver individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with established hospital guidelines, nursing professional practice model, nursing care standards and policies and in accordance with ANA code of ethics and external regulatory agencies.

Registered Nurses use the nursing process to effectively plan and manage quality patient care. Biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning needs are addressed in all steps of the nursing process. This is demonstrated in base-line and comparative documentation, entered in a timely manner, and with evidence of age-appropriate consideration when care is planned, delivered, and evaluated.

Moffitt Cancer Center's Operating Room is a rapidly growing and advancing department, offering nurses the opportunity to expand their clinical expertise while working with some of the most advanced surgical technologies available. As our surgical programs continue to grow, including minimally invasive and robotic cancer surgery, team members have ongoing opportunities for professional development, skill enhancement, and career advancement within Perioperative Services.

About the Role Moffitt Cancer Center's Operating Room delivers state-of-the-art surgical care and supports one of the busiest minimally invasive and robotic cancer surgery programs in Florida. Our team cares for patients undergoing a wide variety of procedures, including:

Gastrointestinal (GI)
Genitourinary (GU)/Urology Gynecologic (GYN)
Breast Plastic and Reconstructive Cutaneous General  Surgery Brachytherapy Bronchoscopy Emergent  surgical cases

Our operating rooms are equipped with advanced imaging, image-guided surgical technology, and intraoperative radiation therapy capabilities, allowing nurses to practice at the forefront of cancer care.

As part of Perioperative Services, our nurses are committed to Patient and Family-Centered Care and participate in a collaborative practice environment supported by Shared Governance, empowering nurses to contribute to clinical and operational decision-making.

Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have:

Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room RN experience as both a Circulator and/or Scrub Nurse in a hospital and/or ambulatory surgery setting

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Positive, patient-centered attitude

Desire to learn, grow, and advance within the department
