Overview

We’re looking for motivated, engaged people to help make everyone’s journeys better. This position is responsible for quality element control related to operation, policy and procedure auditing, supporting quality improvement projects, and supporting the manager to drive defect prevention and detections. The position acts as the primary business unit liaison to US Quality Assurance.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and monitors quality improvement projects
  • Audits implementation of the quality system for effectiveness by verifying operation activities against Gate Gourmet, customer and regulatory specifications
  • Monitors the corrective action system
  • Educates and trains unit staff and managers on quality related issues
  • Develops a comprehensive quality program
  • Implements the quality system detailed in the quality manual
  • Champions total quality improvement efforts and initiates problem‑solving to assure implementation
  • Supports the manager to drive defect prevention versus detection
  • Coordinates actions to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities
  • Maintains customer compliance resolution
  • Maintains key performance metrics for the Quality organization
  • Acts as the primary liaison to US Quality Assurance
  • Ensures food safety and quality of processing and manufacturing within the business
  • Supports customer and government audits to meet compliance
  • Verifies and ensures company policies and procedures are followed
  • Ensures quality specifications and requirements are met
  • Assists with developing Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensures safety, quality and compliance with customer specifications
  • Assists in training for all Standard Operating Procedures and Critical Control Points
  • Completes all required company training, including Serv Safe Sanitation Manager Certification
Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    Minimum high‑school graduate or equivalent with related experience; preferred college degree in a related discipline with knowledge of HACCP, quality management and Six Sigma
  • Work Experience
    :
    Minimum 3 years in food safety control practices (GMPs, SOPs, HACCP) and quality program control; previous experience in airline, food processing, distribution operations or other fast‑paced environments
  • Technical Skills
    :
    Serv Safe certification required; HACCP certified and Serv Safe trained a plus; basic Lean, Six Sigma knowledge and continuous improvement understanding a plus
  • Job Skills
    :
    Intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); knowledge of quality auditing, inspection methods; detail oriented; strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi‑task; strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact well with multiple departments; ability to work with little supervision; excellent reading, writing and oral communication skills
  • Preferred Skills
    :
    Excellent analytical skills; basic statistics (Pareto, control, histogram, run charts, algebra); project management skills; knowledge of FDA regulations; multilingual a plus

Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Regular shifts of 10+ hours with frequent standing, bending, lifting and moving
  • Work in a production kitchen facility that may involve temperature and noise discomfort
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move items exceeding 25 pounds
