Are you ready to be the technical authority behind high-quality castings and safety-critical inspections? We are looking for an experienced NDT professional to lead nondestructive testing applications across Castings and supplier operations—bringing expertise, precision, and leadership to inspection methods that protect product integrity and drive continuous improvement.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will set up, maintain, and continuously improve nondestructive testing (NDT) applications within Castings and its supplier network. You will interpret and evaluate inspection results against applicable codes, standards, and specifications while training, guiding, and supervising NDT Trainees, Level 1, and Level 2 personnel. You will also maintain all NDT personnel records for the department.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies that improve NDT efficiency, inspection robustness, and throughput.
- Apply the scope and limitations of Liquid Penetrant/Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Radiography Inspection (RI), ultrasonic testing (UT), and additional techniques such as Thermal Wave and Neutron Radiographic Inspection.
- Interpret inspection results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Establish the techniques required for NDT inspection and ensure procedures are clear, compliant, and effective.
- Interpret specifications and procedures, and designate the inspections and techniques to be used.
- Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 personnel.
- Perform NDT Level 1 and Level 2 duties as needed to support production, quality, and delivery goals.
- Ensure proper calibration procedures are followed and equipment is maintained in safe, effective working condition.
- Champion quality assurance, on-time delivery, and compliance with ISO-9000 quality requirements.
- Level III certification in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection and Radiographic Inspection meeting the requirements of NAS-410 or equivalent.
- High school diploma and four (4) years' experience in Level 2 Radiography Inspection (RI), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), and ultrasonic testing (UT).
OR
- Associate’s degree in an engineering or science related discipline and two (2) years experience in Level 2 Radiographic Inspection (RI), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), and ultrasonic testing (UT).
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science related discipline and one (1) year experience in Level 2 Radiographic Inspection (RI), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), and ultrasonic testing (UT).
- Certification in X-Ray, Penetrant Testing, ultrasonic testing (UT), Thermal Wave, and Computed Tomography is highly desirable.
- American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) Certification is highly desirable.
