Job Title:

Quality Assurance Lab Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Quality Assurance Lab Technician where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality and safety of our food products. You will adhere to health and safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) in our warehouse and production areas. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure that all products meet stringent quality standards.

Responsibilities

+ Adhere to food quality and safety standards according to Safe Quality Food requirements.

+ Ensure all products conform to specifications as outlined in the SAP system.

+ Conduct analysis on raw deliveries, syrup batches, and treated water.

+ Maintain accurate and legible records of all tests and retests.

+ Collaborate with departments to improve quality, increase efficiencies, and eliminate out of specification products.

+ Startup lines accurately and timely by confirming flavor, carbo-trol/flow mix settings, and product parameters.

+ Perform chemical and physical analysis on raw, intermediate, and packaging materials.

+ Complete flavor changes accurately and timely by confirming flavor and adjusting settings.

+ Evaluate finished products against standards through audits of product and packaging integrity.

+ Check process control parameters for proper equipment application and operation.

+ Maintain lab equipment cleanliness, operation, and calibration.

+ Utilize free time to assist other technicians, prepare reagents, and manage inventory supplies.

+ Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned.

+ Communicate with incoming shift technicians about issues affecting product or scheduling.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Food Science, Quality, or a related discipline.

+ Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP, and PowerPoint.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and results-oriented.

+ Organized and detail-oriented.

+ Knowledge of quality systems (GMP, HACCP, SQF) with certification as a plus.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Attention to detail, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.

+ Experience in chemistry, laboratory settings, and microbiology.

+ Ability to perform root cause analysis and quality control.

+

Experience with batch records and biology.

Work Environment

You will work in a lab/manufacturing environment that requires continuous standing or walking. The role involves repetitive tasks and moderate attention to detail with sensory inputs. There is a high level of mental stress due to deadlines, production quotas, and accuracy demands.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
