The Tech Compliance Specialist supports technical compliance activities by maintaining documentation, tracking requirements, and assisting with audit readiness. This role ensures procedures, records, training materials, and certifications are accurate, complete, and aligned with customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards.
Essential Functions- Maintain compliance documentation, filing systems, revision control, and traceability requirements.
- Support internal and customer audit readiness by gathering evidence, organizing documentation, and tracking open items.
- Monitor compliance actions, follow up with responsible owners, and elevate risks as needed.
- Assist with deviation and nonconformance documentation, ensuring required records are accurate and complete.
- Support training documentation, certification tracking, and maintenance of compliance calendars.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Quality on procedure updates and distribution to impacted departments.
- Maintain compliance dashboards and reporting tools for leadership visibility.
- Support calibration- and compliance-related document verification.
- Communicate compliance requirements clearly and maintain confidentiality of controlled documentation.
- Level I:
Maintains records and performs routine audit readiness tasks with guidance. - Level II:
Independently manages compliance tracking systems and improves documentation workflows. - Level III:
Leads complex documentation initiatives and supports major certification or audit programs.
- Knowledge of documentation control practices and revision management.
- Ability to interpret procedures, compliance checklists, and audit documentation requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with multiple departments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and consistency in recordkeeping.
- Skilled in organizing, filing, and retrieving documentation for audits and investigations.
- Ability to track due dates, follow up on open actions, and elevate risks appropriately.
- Familiarity with quality systems, nonconformance documentation, and corrective action workflows preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in documentation control, quality administration, or compliance support within manufacturing preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with office software and comfort working with procedures, forms, and records.
Primarily office-based with regular interaction in shop-floor or inspection areas; may require schedule flexibility during audits or urgent documentation needs.
Physical Demands- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform frequent computer-based tasks.
- Occasional walking in production areas requiring PPE.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs for records or samples.
- Accuracy and completeness of controlled documents.
- Effectiveness of compliance tracking and follow-up.
- Audit readiness and quality of documentation prepared for audits.
- Timeliness and organization of record retrieval during audits or investigations.
- Completeness of training and certification records.
- Quality of deviation/NCR documentation support.
- Compliance of calibration and related documents.
- Effectiveness of communication regarding compliance requirements.
- Quality and consistency of compliance dashboards or reports.
- Contribution to improvements in documentation workflows.
- Strengthen documentation accuracy and consistency by improving filing, revision checks, and record maintenance practices.
- Improve audit readiness by enhancing organization, evidence tracking, and communication with Engineering and Quality.
- Increase effectiveness of compliance tracking by improving follow-up, documentation completeness, and visibility of open actions.
- Support training and certification record accuracy by reinforcing documentation practices and identifying gaps proactively.
- Enhance nonconformance and deviation support by ensuring required documentation is complete and aligned with quality system expectations.
- Improve compliance reporting by maintaining accurate dashboards and providing clear updates to leadership.
- Strengthen communication of compliance requirements by escalating risks appropriately and reinforcing procedural expectations.
