Visiting Research Scholar (Finance)
The Visiting Research Scholar is a temporary, hourly position responsible for conducting, supporting, and/or administering research and training activities for a specific program, project, or area of study. This role contributes subject‑matter expertise to advance research objectives and may support scholarly publications, grants, and instructional initiatives. To further their research efforts, they need the assistance of a visiting scholar who has experience in the BSL‑1 and BSL‑2 experiments in cardiovascular science using molecular/cell biological techniques.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of specialization relevant to the research area.
- Appropriate research experience or training relevant to the assigned project or program.

Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements. - A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
- (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
- (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
- (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
- Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
- Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
- Conducts research and/or supports research initiatives for a designated program, project, or discipline.
- Assists with the design, implementation, and administration of research projects in accordance with established objectives.
- Collects, analyzes, and reviews research data; documents findings and maintains accurate records.
- Prepares research summaries, reports, and drafts of manuscripts or papers for publication or presentation.
- Collaborates with faculty, staff, and research teams to support project goals and timelines.
- Trains or mentors staff, students, or research assistants involved in specific research projects or programs.
- Ensures research activities comply with applicable institutional policies, protocols, and ethical standards.
- Performs other research‑related duties as assigned to support program or project needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- This position may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.
