The Advanced Research Scientist performs a variety of lab and/or field experiments that require competency with standard and advanced scientific techniques and equipment in disciplines such as molecular biology, microbiology, genomics, physiology, and pathology/microscopy.
This position is Grant‑Funded.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms a variety of lab and/or field experiments requiring competency with standard and advanced scientific techniques and equipment in disciplines such as molecular biology, microbiology, genomics, physiology, and pathology/microscopy.
Contributes to the design, execution, and troubleshooting of experiments, modifying methods based on familiarity with essential principles and acting semi‑autonomously.
Acts as a laboratory expert in specialized techniques such as physiologic, molecular, genomic, or microscopic methods, with analysis of results at a level greater than that of a Research Scientist.
Provides data or figures of publication quality for manuscripts or grants.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a natural, physical or medical science with 2 years of experience.
- Compliance with Senate Bill 1310:
Work‑experience substitution for postsecondary education is limited as follows:- Two years of direct experience for an associate degree.
- Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
- Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree.
- Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree.
- Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
- Minimum qualifications requiring a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
This position may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.
