Performs a variety of laboratory and/or field experiments that require competency with standard scientific techniques and equipment across disciplines such as molecular biology, microbiology, genomics, physiology, and pathology/microscopy. Work involves practical and theoretical knowledge to execute these techniques and modify them as needed, in consultation with the principal investigator or designee. Competence in standard methods for analyzing results is expected, and the candidate will provide data or figures of publication quality for manuscripts or grant applications.

Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory experiments investigating GPCR signaling pathways, including TAS2R-mediated cellular responses.
  • Conduct molecular, cellular, and biochemical assays (e.g., cell culture, qPCR, Western blotting, signaling/functional assays) to evaluate receptor activity and downstream pathways.
  • Assist in studies examining GPCR roles in disease mechanisms, including cancer, inflammation, and respiratory disorders.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures, data collection, and results in compliance with laboratory and institutional standards.
  • Analyze experimental data using appropriate statistical and computational tools; generate figures, graphs, and summaries for reports, presentations, and publications.
  • Support development, optimization, and troubleshooting of experimental protocols related to GPCR signaling and pharmacology.
  • Prepare reagents, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure proper laboratory organization and safety compliance.
  • Order and manage laboratory supplies and inventory as needed.
  • Collaborate with faculty investigators, postdoctoral fellows, and students in a multidisciplinary research environment.
  • Assist with training and oversight of junior personnel, students, or research assistants as assigned.
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation, grant applications, and dissemination of research findings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of ongoing research activities.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related natural, physical, or medical science field.
