The COMPASS NLP Lab is a recently formed lab led by PI Shira Wein at the University of South Florida in the Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computing. COMPASS invites applicants for a full-time post-doctoral research position. The initial contract is for one year with a flexible start date. The selected applicant can begin as soon as September 30, 2026 with the role being renewable for up to four years.

The University of South Florida (USF) is a top university with multiple NLP groups and nearly 100 scientific staff. The lab has access to advanced computing resources. USF is located in sunny Tampa, Florida.
Applicants should have a PhD in Computer Science or Computational Linguistics and a particular interest in semantics and/or interpretability. They should be fluent in English, be excited to mentor students, and have experience with high-performance computing clusters.
