About Us

Global Animal Protection Consulting LLC is a specialist research, training, and advisory firm supporting animal protection organizations, law enforcement agencies, and government partners.

We are a small, start-up, mission-driven consultancy working on complex issues involving animal exploitation, cruelty, organized abuse, and related matters. Our work is fast-moving, high-impact, and often supports organizations and agencies operating on the front lines of animal protection.

As a growing consultancy, we are looking for someone who is not only an excellent researcher, but who is also comfortable working in a small team, building systems as we grow, and contributing to the long-term development of the firm.

The Role

We are seeking a Research Analyst to support complex research and analysis projects relating to animal exploitation, abuse, and associated issues.

This role will involve conducting detailed research, assessing information from a range of sources, preparing written analysis, and supporting the delivery of client projects. You will be expected to investigate complex subject areas thoroughly, ensure factual accuracy, verify sources, and prepare clear, well-structured analysis for review.

The role may also involve occasional travel and field visits across the globe to visit client projects, support research assignments, or better understand operational contexts. Candidates must be willing and able to travel when required.

This is a hybrid role based between home and our corporate office in Tampa, Florida. Regular meetings will be held at our Tampa office, so candidates must live within a commutable distance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed research into complex areas of animal exploitation, abuse, and related matters as assigned.
  • Gather, assess, verify, and organize information from a range of sources, including open sources, human sources, documents, datasets, media, and other relevant materials.
  • Prepare clear written analyses, briefings, research summaries, and supporting materials for internal review and client-facing projects.
  • Ensure all research outputs are factually accurate, properly sourced, and presented in a professional manner.
  • Identify relevant trends and patterns connected to assigned research areas.
  • Support the development of research methodologies, internal knowledge systems, and project workflows as the consultancy grows.
  • Work closely with colleagues, consultants, clients, and external partners to support high-quality project delivery.
  • Participate in occasional field visits, site visits, meetings, or project-related travel, including international travel where required.
  • Manage competing deadlines and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
Essential Requirements
  • A degree in a related field, or equivalent professional research experience. An advanced degree is preferred but not essential.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant research experience, particularly in areas such as intelligence research, human intelligence, open-source intelligence, investigations, policy research, criminal justice, animal protection, organized crime, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of animal protection, animal rights, animal exploitation, or animal cruelty issues.
  • Strong alignment with the mission and objectives of Global Animal Protection Consulting LLC.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex information and produce clear, accurate, and useful written outputs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • High levels of accuracy, attention to detail, and source discipline.
