Job Details
Location:
Florida – Tampa, FL 33592. Position Type:
Full Time. Education Level: 4 Year Degree.
- Develop operating procedures and perform tests for water and wastewater treatment operations, including:
- Jar tests for chemical dosing optimization
- Silt Density Index (SDI)
- Bench and pilot‑scale evaluations
- Column and batch testing for ion exchange resins, carbon adsorption, activated alumina, etc.
- Filtration systems (conventional, membrane, ceramic)
- Collect and record operating conditions such as pumping rates, pH, oxidation‑reduction potential (ORP), temperature, and pressure
- Operate and maintain small‑scale equipment (pumps, heaters, mixers)
- Prepare samples for testing and reagents for in‑house lab analyses
- Perform laboratory tests:
- pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Color, Temperature (T)
- Oxidation‑Reduction Potential (ORP), Alkalinity (ALK)
- Calcium & Magnesium Hardness, Total Hardness, Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
- Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Organic Carbon (TOC), Turbidity
- Phosphorus/Phosphate, TKN/Ammonia/Nitrite/Nitrate
- Combustion Ion Chromatography (CIC)
- Pull samples for third‑party laboratory analysis
- Maintain reagents, lab inventory, calibration records, and SDS documentation
- Communicate and document data; keep lab equipment clean
- Mechanical aptitude/technical background
- Experience with bench‑top wet inorganic chemistry analytical procedures
- Detail oriented and diligent with laboratory procedures
- Ability to follow detailed lab procedures and safety sheets
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong communication skills with team members
- Proficiency with laboratory instruments (pH, conductivity meters, TSS probes, HACH spectrophotometer, analytical balances, volumetric glassware)
- Non‑colourblind
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Job Demands- Lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Sitting at a desk for extended periods with high concentration required
BS degree in Chemistry or related field.
