YOUR ROLE
As a part-time Retail Representative, your goal is to provide everyone who comes in the store with an amazing experience by making their day better than before they came in. With a warm and welcoming smile, you will be helping our guests choose the perfect souvenirs to take home, promoting feedings, adoptions, and promotional products at the register as well as assisting guests with general inquiries.

- Job Type: Part Time (20‑28 hours per week)
- Schedule:
Must be able to work a minimum of 3 days per week including weekends and holidays. Schedule varies and is dependent on weather and guest attendance.
- You’re a people person! Zoo Tampa retail shops are a fast‑pace environment and have the responsibility of being the first‑ and last‑impression for most zoo guests. Therefore, a friendly nature and an excellent customer service attitude is required.
- You’re flexible! You're full of energy and can handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. You are able to work a variety of different shifts and locations within the zoo. You are able to accommodate the ever‑changing job responsibilities and business needs.
- You’re an innovative problem solver! Making your guests' day is your priority and you’re able to proactively resolve guest concerns while sticking to company policy. You are able to politely and diplomatically enforce established protocols.

Zoo Tampa at Lowry Park is one of the most popular zoos in the southeastern U.S., with over 1.2 million visitors annually. We have grown to now encompass 56 acres of naturalistic wildlife habitats in a lush, tropical garden setting with wide‑ranging activities. The Zoo, accredited by Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), offers popular educational programming, fun recreational amenities, up‑close animal encounters and engaging seasonal events for which it has won awards as one of the country’s most family‑friendly zoos.

REQUIREMENTS- Ability to lift and/or move 20‑50 pounds
- Must be able to withstand typical Florida climate including hot and cold conditions.
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well within a team
- Conduct all activities in alignment with AZA standards and guidelines, all relevant laws and regulations, safety standards, and standards that ensure animal welfare.
- Must be able to work within a designated break schedule.
- Must have physical endurance for long, high volume days.
- The ability to communicate clearly with the general public.
- Manual dexterity for cash handling, use of keyboard/mouse, filing, etc.
