General Position SummaryAssistant Store Managers are the heart of the Lids brand, fostering passion for sporting and fashion goods, meeting customer needs, and ensuring the store performs at its best. They are accountable for all aspects of store performance, creating a fun, inclusive environment for their team, and delivering exceptional customer service.
People & Training- Act as Manager on duty for scheduling and customer complaints when Store Manager is absent.
- Manage store associates through LIDS Training Programs, goal setting, and follow‑up.
- Administer progressive discipline steps, including verbal and written warnings.
- Engage team members, explaining how their work supports company objectives.
- Establish supportive relationships and adhere to Lids Brand Standards.
- Schedule and staff the store, calling in associates during unexpected peaks.
- Participate in LIDS Training Programs and adhere to sales and task goals.
- Recruit and train staff on proper store operations and procedures.
- Ensure store associates comply with company policies, including safekeeping of inventory, funds, and property.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Lead, execute, and assist Lids selling strategy to achieve KPIs and sales targets.
- Resolve customer feedback and escalations, ensuring a “make it right” outcome.
- Offer customers membership program benefits and in‑store special offers.
- Adhere to visual guidelines for merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness.
- Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the company dress code.
- Execute company‑level directives, promotions, and initiatives.
- Follow the Policies & Procedures Manual to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain store technology (MPOS, Lids Custom) through daily audits, updates, and repairs.
- Execute service requests and order repairs or replenish supplies.
- Manage cash effectively, including opening/closing the till and bank drops.
- Prepare the store for inventory audits and assist during audits for accuracy.
- Open and close the store as per the Operations P&P Manual.
- Protect company assets according to LIDS Retail policies.
- Assist in preparing work schedules with proper coverage and wage control.
- Accurately manage inventory: receiving, transferring, pricing, and counts.
- Organize the backroom for maximum efficiency.
- Execute optimal visual merchandising, including window activations and seasonal changes.
- Maintain daily VM and store actions such as product recovery.
- Adjust pricing signage and promotional displays during operating hours.
- Established ability to achieve sales results while minimizing loss.
