We are seeking an experienced Sales Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the development, evaluation, and improvement of AI models across the sales lifecycle. In this role, you will combine deep sales expertise with data-driven insights to ensure AI systems are persuasive, empathetic, context‑aware, and aligned with proven sales methodologies and business objectives.
Main Responsibilities- Collaborate with AI, data science, and product teams to evaluate AI models used in prospecting, lead qualification, objection handling, negotiation, and closing.
- Identify gaps, hallucinations, unnatural phrasing, and ineffective tactics in model outputs, and provide actionable insights to improve performance.
- Validate AI‑generated conversations against real‑world sales practices, psychological persuasion principles, and customer experience standards to ensure authentic, human‑like interactions.
- Define key metrics and success criteria to measure tone, empathy, objection recovery, engagement, and overall deal progression.
- Support data labeling and annotation efforts by providing sales‑stage context and expertise to refine training datasets.
- Assist in designing prompts and frameworks that enable AI systems to adapt messaging across buyer personas, industries, and sales scenarios.
- Stay current with evolving sales methodologies (e.g., SPIN, Challenger, Sandler), CRM technologies, and ethical standards in automated selling.
- Partner cross‑functionally with stakeholders to align AI solutions with revenue and business growth objectives.
- 7+ years of core sales experience (B2B Account Executive, Inside Sales, Sales Enablement, or Sales Leadership roles).
- Strong understanding of the complete sales funnel, pipeline management, CRM logic, and proven sales techniques/methodologies.
- Experience analyzing sales conversations or transcripts to identify why interactions succeed or fail and recommending improvements.
- Familiarity with AI/ML model evaluation, prompt design, or contributing domain expertise for training data or automated systems is highly preferred.
- Ability to assess messaging effectiveness, tone, empathy, and persuasion in written and verbal communication.
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Product, Marketing, or Data functions.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with attention to nuance in customer dialogue.
