The Business Development Leader will drive sales and market expansion through new customer acquisition, strategic relationship building, and proactive business development efforts. This is a business-to-business, field-focused role covering a defined local territory.
You’ll be responsible for building and managing a strong pipeline, identifying new opportunities, and partnering internally to deliver high-quality solutions that convert to long-term customer relationships. This role plays a critical part in shaping their presence in the market and energizing growth within the team.
Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a territory-specific sales strategy to grow market share and revenue
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking, and industry events
- Drive new customer acquisition through cold calling, relationship building, marketing outreach, and business development meetings
- Build and maintain a healthy, balanced sales pipeline using CRM tools to track activity and forecast growth
- Collaborate with technical and operational teams to translate customer needs into high-quality proposals with strong conversion rates
- Maintain strong commercial client relationships with a focus on service, referrals, and repeat business
- Participate in strategic opportunity reviews and help guide deal strategy
- Support marketing initiatives, attend trade shows, and represent at industry functions
- Coordinate project consultations, cost estimates, and internal resources as needed
- Participate in post-job financial reviews and track performance metrics
- Contribute to team momentum by bringing energy, ideas, and leadership to the growth effort
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required
- 3+ years of experience in commercial construction, industrial sales, or a related B2B sales environment
- Proven success growing market share and building new business in a fast-paced setting
- Strong hunter mentality with a drive to prospect, close, and build long-term relationships
- Ability to thrive in a greenfield or growth-stage environment
- Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills
- Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and sales activity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel locally as needed
