INSIDE SALES JOB DESCRIPTION

Smith Metal Source’s Inside Sales Representative plays a key role in increasing profitability, managing inventory, and generating revenue through new and existing accounts. The effectiveness of sales service, and ultimately profitability, is accomplished by consistent and timely communication with our customers, prospects, vendors, and other employees of Smith Metal Source.

• Represent the company’s products and services
• Provide fair, competitive quotes while maintaining profitable healthy margins
• Key in orders and estimates promptly
• Maintain a professional office appearance
• Identify opportunities to improve margins of sale
• Monitor market conditions in relation to our competitors
• Negotiate with vendors to keep costs down
• Build strong and successful relationships with new and old clients
• Evaluate customer problems and needs and help create solutions
• Research accounts and follow through on point of contact info from outside sales leads
• Be a Team-Player for your success and the company as a whole

• Strong product knowledge
• Proficient in Quick Books, Outlook, Word and Excel
• Great communicator
• Well organized
• Effective time management throughout any business day to maximize time and sales
• Creating, managing, and working on customer and vendor files
