Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Territory Manager for a 3rd‑generation, family‑owned leader in industrial hardware. This role is based on‑site in the Tampa, FL market.
This is a high‑autonomy, "Mobile Store" route sales position designed for a disciplined hunter who enjoys being in the field. You will manage a defined geographic territory, providing critical industrial hardware and MRO supplies directly to businesses. This isn't just a sales job; it’s a career within a firm that boasts a 90% retention rate and a 10‑year average employee tenure.
We are looking for a professional with a "boots‑on‑the‑ground" mentality who can maintain a mobile showroom, conduct face‑to‑face demonstrations, and build long‑term relationships with machinists, operators, and facility managers.
- Business Development: Identify and secure new sales prospects through aggressive cold‑calling, local research, and referral networking.
- The Mobile Store
Experience:
Operate and maintain a company‑approved mobile showroom, using sample boards and product demos to showcase hardware solutions on‑site. - Account Management: Service existing customers with high frequency, ensuring their industrial hardware needs are met through a consistent route schedule.
- Technical Consultation: Present product applications to customers, leveraging a high level of mechanical interest to solve shop‑floor challenges.
- Daily Execution: Submit accurate daily business reports detailing sales orders, prospect calls, and updated customer contact data via company software.
- Territory Logistics: Manage the cleanliness, marketing functionality, and inventory of your mobile store to ensure a professional brand representation.
- Self‑Management: Provide and maintain a fully insured, approved vehicle and the necessary technological tools (tablets/mobile devices) to operate the territory successfully.
- Stability is Key: No "job hoppers"—maximum of 3 positions held within the last 10 years.
- Industry
Experience:
5+ years of experience. Preference for candidates with Route Sales backgrounds in industrial supply, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), or heavy equipment (e.g., Ecolab, Sunbelt Rentals). - Technical Alternative: We highly value candidates with a background as a Machinist, Operator, or Maintenance professional who possesses deep product knowledge and a desire to transition into sales.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Above‑average interest in how things work and the applications of industrial hardware.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to kneel and bend to the floor on a regular basis to service bins and displays.
- Residency: Must currently reside within the Tampa, FL territory (No relocation).
- Licensing: Clean driving history is mandatory.
- Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Mobile Store: Must be able to purchase or lease an approved vehicle that meets company standards for a mobile showroom.
- Tools: Must provide a fully insured vehicle, fuel, maintenance, and mobile devices (iPad/Tablet/Phone).
