Position OverviewThe Tampa/St. Pete Market Sales Representative will be responsible for building Shortbarrel’s presence across the on- and off-premise landscape. This includes developing key relationships with retailers, bars, restaurants, and distributors while executing brand activations that bring Shortbarrel’s story to life.
This role operates with a high level of autonomy while working closely with Shortbarrel leadership on strategy and execution. It is ideal for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, loves whiskey culture, and is excited to build a market from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities- Represent Shortbarrel Bourbon throughout the Gulf Coast market stretching from Naples to Spring Hill
- Develop and manage relationships with distributors, retailers, and key on-premise accounts
- Open new accounts and drive sell-through at existing placements
- Execute tastings, staff trainings, and promotional events that create brand awareness
- Plan and execute efficient, strategic sales routes
- Track sales activity, leads, and follow-ups using company systems
- Collaborate with leadership on market growth strategies and activation planning
- Establish strong working relationships with distributor teams across the territory
- Secure new on- and off-premise placements in priority accounts
- Execute consistent tastings and trainings that drive reorder velocity
- Build sustainable distribution and measurable brand presence across the Gulf Coast
- Must currently live in Tampa or St. Petersburg, Florida
- Prior experience in spirits, wine, or beverage alcohol sales required
- Experience working with distributors or managing supplier–distributor relationships preferred
- Strong knowledge of the Tampa/St. Pete market
- Experience selling into on-premise accounts including bars and restaurants
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented
- Ability to manage a large, multi-city territory with effective route planning
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs for tastings, events, and account support
- Passion for bourbon and whiskey culture
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability toworkindependently and creatively
- Base Salary: $65,000 per year
