As a Broker, you’ll collaborate with retail insurance agents to develop and submit business to target markets, building strong relationships with brokerage markets. You’ll assess new business submissions, negotiate terms for optimal coverage and pricing, and ensure timely quotes. Additionally, you’ll solicit new business through various sales and marketing strategies, establish relationships within a territory, and coordinate administrative workflows with support teams to ensure accurate and prompt service responses.
Responsibilities- Work with retail insurance agents to develop and submit business to target markets.
- Build relationships with brokerage markets.
- Assess new business submissions and negotiate terms to select markets that can provide the most coverage at the best price.
- Follow submissions through the process to ensure quotes are provided in a timely manner and negotiate with parties to reach an acceptable price.
- Solicit new business through sales and marketing techniques, establishing relationships within a territory through agency visits, telemarketing calls and cross‑selling.
- Coordinate and handle administrative workflows with support teams for accurate and prompt response to service issues.
- Strong knowledge and experience of property insurance including coverages, rating, terminology, and technical procedures.
- P&C license required.
- Experience working with large property accounts.
- History of business development and submissions from direct production responsibilities.
- Sales driven, people person who likes to establish new relationships while learning communication strategies and sales methods.
- Experience in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Reader; ability to quickly learn new programs and applications.
- Skilled in business writing and problem/situation analysis.
- Energetic, self‑motivated individuals who are goal‑oriented and can thrive in a team environment.
- Strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
- A four‑year college degree is preferred with 1–3 years of relative experience.
