Company Overview
True Look is a leading provider of construction camera technology, delivering high-definition live monitoring, time-lapse video, and intelligent security solutions to jobsites across North America. Our innovative platform combines rugged field hardware, including solar cameras and mobile surveillance trailers with cloud-based software to give general contractors, developers, and project owners complete visibility over their projects. By blending security with project management data, True Look helps teams improve remote collaboration, document progress, and secure their assets.
To accelerate our expansion in key booming markets, we are seeking a gritty, self-motivated sales professional to manage and grow our regional footprint.
Position Overview
Our Field Sales Representative is a high-impact territory growth role designed for a disciplined, boots-on-the-ground professional. Operating directly out of our target market, you will be responsible for a critical mission: hunting for net-new client logos and making initial introductions, serving as the frontline face of True Look in our most high impact regions.
This role focuses on mid-market commercial general contractors, regional developers, and subcontractors. You will spend your days split between regional offices and active construction sites, tracking down decision-makers, demonstrating our physical hardware and software platform, and ensuring a seamless handoff of qualified opportunities to an Account Executive (AE) to finalize the sale.
Key Responsibilities
1. Territory Growth & Account Expansion
- Net-New Acquisition: Execute an outbound prospecting strategy targeting mid-market general contractors, construction managers, and developers within your territory.
- Account Penetration: Own and upsell True Look’s existing customer base in the region, ensuring that when an existing client starts a new construction project, True Look cameras are deployed on day one.
- Pipeline Generation & Sales Handoff: Execute a high-velocity outbound prospecting strategy, from cold-calling and jobsite door-knocking to running live platform demos, to identify and qualify leads before handing them off to the AE team for final negotiations.
2. Onsite Execution & Field Presence
- Active Jobsite Prospects: Maintain a high-volume weekly field schedule, physically visiting construction trailers and active sites to engage Project Managers, Superintendents, and Safety Directors.
- Multi-Level Selling: Build relationships up and down the ladder, comfortably speaking the language of a field foreman on-site, then pivoting to present cost-benefit metrics to a corporate VP or purchasing director.
- Local Networking: Capitalize on regional industry events, trade associations (e.g., ABC, AGC), and local construction networks to uncover unmapped project pipelines.
- Run Your Territory: Treat your assigned market like your own business franchise. Independently map out daily and weekly driving routes to maximize site visits and face-to-face meetings.
- CRM Discipline: Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and activity metrics within our CRM to ensure clean data forecasting for leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
Core Requirements
- 2+ years of quota-carrying field sales or territory management experience with a documented history of hitting or exceeding sales metrics.
- Background in "Adjacent" Industrial or Technical Sales: Prior experience selling building materials, commercial security systems (CCTV/Access Control/Low Voltage), industrial tool rentals (e.g., Hilti, United Rentals, Sunbelt), or construction software/SaaS.
- Construction Competency: Familiarity with commercial construction jobsites, workflows, and how general contractors buy equipment.
- High Autonomy & Tech Literacy: A self-starter who thrives working remotely without a manager looking over their shoulder. Must be comfortable learning a technical product ecosystem (hardware + cloud software) and demonstrating it seamlessly in the field.
- Mobility: Must possess a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and the willingness to travel 70-90% of the time locally to cover the assigned area, surrounding markets, and occasional travel outside of designated territory.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary paired with an uncapped commission structure that directly rewards territory growth.
- Vehicle allowance/mileage reimbursement program for field travel.
- Thorough technical, product, and platform onboarding to ensure you understand our hardware and software capabilities. Onsite training required at our HQ in Winston Salem, NC.
