Performs advanced professional and technical duties in an environmental laboratory. Manages small to medium projects and may address large projects, manages programs, or staff in the field of environmental pollution control.

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a Natural or Physical Science or Engineering.
• Three or more years of experience directly related to environmental regulation, monitoring, inspection, sampling, analysis, stewardship, or similar environmental duties.
• Two or more years of experience as a program/project manager, supervisor, or team leader.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job‑specific competencies noted below.

Must have at least three or more years of recent experience in an environmental laboratory conducting complex chemical analysis. Candidate will have multiple years of experience directly operating and maintaining the following instrumentation:

• ICP/MS analyzing environmental samples for metal and mineral content.
• GC/QQQ analyzing air and sediment samples for PAH content.
• GC equipped with dual ECDs analyzing sediment samples for pesticide and PCB content.

• Knowledge of laboratory analysis methods/procedures, environmental pollutants sampling/testing, and/or pollution control.
• Considerable knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental control laws and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems involving several variables or unique situations.
• Ability to manage the details of projects, track activities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to collect, organize and analyze data and make logical decisions.
• Ability to use a computer and related software.
