Kleinfelder’s Environmental Permitting and Planning (EP&P) Team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Tampa, Florida office.

The role involves providing project management and technical support to ecology and environmental permitting projects and proposals.

Responsibilities
  • Propose, plan, execute, and manage environmental permitting and planning projects of varying complexity.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and engage directly with staff and leadership.
  • Collaborate with clients in the Southeast and support proposal preparation (scoping and pricing).
  • Prepare and submit permits in coordination with state and federal agencies.
  • Document and manage project deliverables, proposals, and reports.
Qualifications – Ideal Candidate
  • Independent thinker and self‑starter; able to work autonomously.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Strong experience with state and federal environmental regulations, including permitting with Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, state water management districts, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
  • Strong technical writing and QA/QC skills.
  • Experience on project proposals and deliverable management.
Minimum Requirements – All Candidates
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecological Science, Environmental Policy, Geology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 6 years of related experience, including 3–4 years of project‑related experience and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Applicable experience in Florida and knowledge of Florida’s threatened and endangered species, ecosystems, and vegetation preferred.
Additional Requirements
  • Will be required to obtain an MSHA New Miner Training certificate as part of on‑job training, along with relevant safety and service line training.
  • Required to complete Kleinfelder’s project management qualifications within one year of hire.
  • Must satisfy employment reference checks, professional licensure/educational verification, motor vehicle report (MVR), and comprehensive background check.
