Science Researcher; Allergy and Immunology

Position Title: Open Rank Basic Scientist, Department of Allergy and Immunology, Morsani College of Medicine, University of South Florida

Location: 12901 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612, USA

Full‑time faculty position to conduct independent and collaborative research in asthma, immunotherapy, and food allergies, while teaching, mentoring, and serving on departmental and university committees.

• Develop and maintain an externally funded research program.
• Design and execute hypothesis‑driven experiments; analyze, interpret, and present data.
• Contribute to manuscripts, grant writing, and peer‑reviewed publications.
• Collaborate with clinicians and internal/external teams to advance translational research.
• Educate medical students and residents in internal medicine and allergy/immunology.
• Supervise residents in inpatient settings and precept medical students in ambulatory clinics.
• Mentor students and trainees in scholarly projects.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees.
• Represent the university in professional and academic settings.

Minimum

• Ph.D. in immunology, microbiology, or related life sciences.
• Demonstrated achievement in teaching, research, and service.
• Eligible for appointment at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank.

Preferred

• 3–4 years of basic science experience in an academic medical center.
• Strong background in immunology, molecular biology, and cellular signaling.
• Proficiency in techniques such as cell culture, PCR, flow cytometry, ELISA, cytokine profiling, immunoassays, and in vivo immunological models.
• Expertise in data analysis for immunology experiments using tools like Graph Pad Prism, Flow Jo, and R.
• Experience with bioinformatics and transcriptomics.
