Job Title
Vos missions en quelques mots

Your missions will be part of the REGEADAPT and MICROFOREST projects of the PEPR FORESTT (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).). The missions will include both fieldwork in the forest and work in the molecular biology laboratory. In the field, with the help of an INRAE technician, you will need to take measurements of traits related to the growth (diameter, height) and survival of young oak and pine seedlings.
The experimental plots are mainly located in Gironde, but also in Oise and Allier, which will require frequent trips, sometimes for several consecutive days. You will also need to take samples of leaves, needles, or buds, in order to extract DNA. Back in the laboratory, you will be responsible for the management and conservation of samples, DNA extractions, and quality control of DNA before sending for genotyping.
You will be particularly in charge of:
- Measuring dimensions of young trees in the regeneration of oaks, beeches, and maritime pines, in large-scale experimental setups requiring preparation and organization
- Managing data measured in the field, managing and conserving samples
- Extraction of DNA and quality control in the molecular biology laboratory.
Special conditions of activity:
This position will require frequent trips to Gironde and, more rarely, to the rest of France. The field requires a physical condition to work in the forest for several consecutive days. The selected candidate will be assigned to two teams of the UMR BIOGECO:
Evolution in Forest Ecosystems (E4E) and Diversity of Biotic Interactions and Functioning of Forest Ecosystems (BIODIV). The workplace will be the Forêt Bois INRAE research site, 69 route d'Arcachon, CESTAS (33610), with no possibility of remote work.
