Archaeological Intern - Summer

Job Description Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Archaeological Intern to join our Tallahassee or Tampa, FL office.

• Provide administrative and operational support for cultural resource management projects, including archaeological surveys and report preparation.
• Conduct archaeological fieldwork under supervision, which may include pedestrian survey, shovel testing, data collection, and/or data recovery in diverse environmental conditions.
• Assist with project-related tasks such as artifact processing, data entry, curation, report figure production, site form preparation, desktop survey, and consultation activities.

• Experience:
  
  No prior Cultural Resource Management work experience is required.
• Education:
  
  Must have completed 60 hours toward a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field by the start of the internship.
• Special
  
  Skills:
  
  Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely; effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Candidates must have the ability to work outdoors in varying field conditions, walk long distances, carry up to 40 pounds of equipment, stoop, and squat.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; basic computer and data entry skills.

Expected compensation range is between $23 - $29 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
