As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver CPO in Tampa, FL
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal on an armed patrol post supporting a government location. You will conduct routine mobile and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with clear communication and professionalism. This is a driving role requiring a valid driver’s license and an armed guard card or license, where teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach matter every shift.

What You ll Do
  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Perform armed patrol duties by conducting regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor entry points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or authorizations as required, and help maintain orderly movement through checkpoints in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; request assistance from emergency services and/or site leadership as needed and follow established escalation procedures.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports and logs, document observations and actions taken, and communicate pertinent information to Allied Universal leadership and/or authorized site contacts.
Minimum Requirements
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Have 3 or more years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
