Security Associate

Position Overview

Join GTE Financial as a Security Associate at our headquarters in Downtown Tampa. You will be the first point of contact for employees, visitors and vendors, ensuring a safe environment.

• Manage the main lobby and monitor all activity at the GTE Headquarters, adjacent properties, and associated community centers.
• Serve guests, issue temporary visitor IDs, and maintain visitor logs.
• Respond to security breaches, prepare and file incident reports, and coordinate with local law enforcement when necessary.
• Tour premises and monitor grounds via surveillance equipment.
• Execute crisis‑management techniques and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain all email communications related to security matters.
• Participate in industry‑specific security/safety training programs.
• Abide by departmental, company, and Florida Department of Agriculture policies and protocols.
• Use firearms and protective gear safely in environments requiring authorized weapons.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completed Certified Basic Security Guard course of instruction.
• At least one year of experience in the Security Industry.
• Approved firearm with a Level 3 retention holster.
• Valid Florida Department of Agriculture “D” and “G” licenses and firearms qualification.
• Ability to use Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) and digital surveillance equipment.
• Experience applying crisis‑management techniques.
• Physical capacity to climb stairs, ladders, and lift up to forty pounds, with 20/20 vision.

Location:

Downtown Tampa – GTE Headquarters.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm. Full-time with occasional additional hours.
