Position
Critical Infrastructure - 2nd Shift Full-Time Security Officer
LocationTampa, Florida (Hillsborough & Manatee Counties, Florida)
Employment TypeFull-Time, 2nd Shift (Monday through Sunday)
Compensation- Starting hourly wage: $18.00 to $20.45
- Includes 27 hours of paid training at minimum wage up to $18.00 per hour

Responsibilities- Provide customer service by carrying out safety and security procedures, site‐specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond calmly and problem‑solving to incidents and critical situations.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
- In possession of an approved Florida Class "D" license from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
- In possession of a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Proof of a high school diploma, college degree, or a valid state GED certificate.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
- Minimum one (1) year of work experience in security or any U.S. military/law enforcement‑related position.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Possess reliable, personally owned transportation with the ability to commute to various job sites as assigned.
- 24/7 access to a smartphone (Android, iPhone, or Windows) and computer with internet access.
- Intermediate computer skills, including emailing, web browsing, MS Word, and Adobe PDF.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; self‑motivated and resourceful; able to prioritize and accomplish job‑related goals and tasks with minimal direction.
- Strong English communication skills, including reading and writing complex instructions and procedures (SOPs, post orders, statutes, laws, and regulations).
- Ability to safely work in a variety of work environments, including commercial and industrial locations.
- Ability to obtain personal uniform items as necessary.
- Must be in good physical condition, capable of walking up and down stairs in limited‑space areas, working in traffic control areas, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must maintain a neat, professional appearance and wear the complete and clean assigned uniform, covering any exposed tattoos; adheres to grooming standards per SOP.
- Ability to pass a drug test and background investigation.
- Ability to complete all mandated training in accordance with company policies.
- Possession of an approved Florida Armed Class "G" Security License issued by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and completion of an approved State of Florida 28‑hour Armed Security Officer Course.
- Working knowledge of maritime security enforcement guidelines, including MTSA and the laws, regulations, and ordinances governing Hillsborough County.
- CPR and first aid certifications or the ability to obtain them.
- Prior veteran, military, or law enforcement experience is preferred; documentation supporting eligibility for preference must be provided at the time of application.
