Critical Infrastructure Armed Security Officer
Position OverviewMartinez and Company is actively seeking disciplined, dedicated, and well‑trained Florida Class "D" and Armed "G" License Security Officers to join our Critical Infrastructure Security Team.
Locations: Hillsborough County and Manatee County, Florida
Employment Type: Full‑Time, 3rd Shift
Shift Details: Monday through Sunday, 07:00 pm – 07:00 am
Starting Compensation: $18.00 – $24.50 per hour, plus $500 Sign‑on Bonus
Includes 27 hours of new hire paid training between minimum wage and site training at $18/hour. Final interview process is a 4‑hour unpaid pre‑hire orientation.

- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

- Insurance options:
Medical, Dental, Vision, Critical Illness, Short‑Term Disability "STD", Accident Insurance, Life, and AD&DD
- Provide customer service by implementing safety and security procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate
- Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and using problem‑solving skills
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the business premises and perimeter. Work environments and conditions may vary depending on the client site
- Florida Class "D" and "G" licenses from the State of Florida DOACS
- Completion of an approved State of Florida 40‑hour Unarmed Security Officer Course and 28‑hour Armed Security Officer Course
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Proof of high school diploma, college degree, or valid state GED certificate
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving history
- Current or previous U.S. military or law enforcement experience (documentation required for preference entitlement)
- Flexible work schedule including days, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable personal transportation and ability to commute to assigned job sites
- 24/7 access to a smartphone and computer with internet connectivity
- Intermediate computer skills – email, web browsing, Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; self‑motivated, resourceful, prioritizes tasks
- Strong English communication skills, reading, writing, interpreting complex instructions, procedures, and regulations
- Work safely in various environments, including commercial and industrial locations
- Obtain necessary personal uniform items
- Good physical condition, walk up and down stairs in limited spaces, lift up to 50 pounds
- Maintain neat, professional appearance; tattoos covered, grooming standards per company policy
- Pass drug test and background investigation
- Knowledge of security and law enforcement guidelines, including investigative techniques
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and ordinances governing Hillsborough County
- CPR and first aid certifications or ability to obtain them
- College‑level education is strongly desired
