Crane Operator - Shipyard - Night Shift

Position: Crane Operator - Shipyard - Day & Night Shift
Gulf Marine Repair Day & Night Shift

The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a variety of heavy lifting equipment in a shipyard environment. This role requires precision, strong situational awareness, and adherence to all safety regulations while handling materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Operate crawler cranes, lattice boom cranes, and hydraulic cranes of various sizes

* Operate barge-mounted friction cranes as required

* Perform pre-operational inspections and routine equipment checks

* Safely lift, move, and position materials according to lift plans and site conditions

* Interpret load charts and accurately calculate load weights and capacities

* Assist with rigging operations as needed to ensure proper load securement

* Communicate effectively with riggers, signal persons, and supervisors

* Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements

Minimum Requirements:

* 4+ years of crane operating experience

* 2-3 years of experience in a shipyard or marine environment preferred

* Strong knowledge of crane load charts and lift planning

* Experience operating both hydraulic and friction cranes

* Ability to work safely in a high-risk, industrial environment

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to sit for extended periods

* Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds regularly

Education &

Certifications:

* NCCCO certification (LAT [LBC] & TLL) required

* Valid Class B driver's license
