OverviewThe HVAC Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance, routine service tasks, and assisting Senior HVAC Technicians with repairs, diagnostics, and system work. This role is designed for a technician who is developing their technical skill set and understands the importance of consistency, documentation, safety, and professionalism. The position plays a critical role in maintaining system reliability, extending equipment life, and supporting efficient service operations.
ResponsibilitiesPreventive Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial and light industrial HVAC systems in accordance with company standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Complete inspections, cleanings, filter replacements, belt adjustments, lubrication, and basic operational checks.
- Identify and document visible deficiencies, abnormal operation, and potential failure risks.
- Ensure equipment is left clean, operational, and properly secured after service.
Scheduled and Routine Service Support
- Assist with routine service calls under the guidance of a Senior HVAC Technician.
- Support basic troubleshooting activities and component replacement as directed.
- Retrieve tools, materials, and parts efficiently to support service execution.
- Follow instructions carefully and execute assigned tasks accurately.
Senior Technician Assistance
- Work directly with Senior HVAC Technicians on repairs, diagnostics, and corrective work.
- Learn proper procedures, system operation, and field best practices through hands‑on support.
- Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization during and after service activities.
- Support safe lifting, rigging preparation, and equipment handling when required.
Documentation and Communication
- Accurately document work performed, findings, and observations using company systems.
- Take clear photos and notes when required for reporting and follow‑up repairs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and Senior Technicians regarding job status and observations.
- Follow company procedures for time tracking, service reporting, and documentation submission.
Safety and Professional Standards
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and site‑specific requirements.
- Use proper personal protective equipment at all times.
- Represent the company professionally in appearance, communication, and conduct.
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle when assigned.
- Follow all federal and state laws, as well as established company policies.

Requirements- Basic working knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and tools.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance procedures and mechanical fundamentals.
- Ability to follow instructions, learn quickly, and work as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability in completing assigned tasks.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- One to three years of HVAC field experience or trade school training.
- EPA Section 608 certification (or willingness to obtain).
- MUST HAVE WITH 6 MONTHS OF Experience working in commercial or institutional environments.
