Fire Alarm Service Technician

Convergint is looking for a full‑time, enthusiastic, results‑driven, and forward‑thinking Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our culture. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and programming fire alarm systems.

• Act as Convergint’s best service provider at all times, ensuring the company is the customer’s first choice.
• Assist in testing, programming, and commissioning fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Assist in servicing fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software and systems, programming of fire alarm systems, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
• Execute all work in accordance with local and national codes, best practices, and company health and safety policies.
• Communicate and work with team members consistently to improve overall operations.
• Keep up to date on all company policies.
• Present a professional image of Convergint at all times in appearance and behavior.

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Solid technical skills related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
• Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and find solutions.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., works with hand and power tools).
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis; minimal overnight travel may be required.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3‑5 years as a fire alarm service technician with experience programming EST 3 or EST 4 (Edwards) fire alarm systems or similar complexity.
• Preferred: 2 years of hands‑on experience in the commercial/industrial/low‑voltage/electrical industry.
• NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm (preferred).
• Associate’s degree in electronic technology, instrumentation (preferred).
