Day Labor PositionsA steel racking assembler installs, builds, and secures industrial storage systems—such as pallet racks, cantilever racks, and shelving—in warehouses and distribution centers. Responsibilities include reading layout drawings, using power tools (drills/impacts) to bolt components, and leveling structures, often working at heights and lifting heavy loads, with pay ranging from $15–$21+ per hour.
Key Responsibilities- Assembly: Assemble metal warehouse shelving, frames, and beam components.
- Installation: Install, position, and anchor racking systems to the floor for stability.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret project drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate layout and beam levels.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols (OSHA) while operating in high-paced environments, including wearing PPE.
- Material Handling: Unload trucks, transport materials from laydown yards, and manage hardware (nuts/bolts).
- Quality Control: Inspect components for damage and ensure the final structure is level, plumb, and properly tightened.
