Job SummaryAs a Plumbing Maintenance Technician at Hawkins Service Company, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and system checks on residential plumbing systems to ensure proper function, safety, and efficiency. This role focuses on preventative maintenance rather than major repairs or installations. You will help homeowners avoid costly issues by conducting inspections, performing routine service, and educating customers on proper system care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduled maintenance visits on residential plumbing systems
- Inspect and service fixtures, water heaters, pipes, valves, and drains
- Flush water heaters, check for leaks, test water pressure, and inspect shut‑off valves
- Clean and maintain drains and plumbing components to prevent clogs and buildup
- Identify potential issues and communicate findings to customers and the service team for follow‑up repairs
- Accurately document maintenance work using company systems and reporting standards
- Educate customers on plumbing system care, maintenance plans, and water‑saving practices
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company and industry standards
- Maintain tools, materials, and company vehicle in a clean and professional manner
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred
- Prior experience in plumbing maintenance, installation, or related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to preventative maintenance
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Must have own basic hand tools; company provides specialized equipment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials
- Comfort working in confined spaces and varying conditions
- Ability to stand, crouch, and climb ladders for extended periods
